Description: We’re planning to celebrate the opening of the La Piedra Trail, connecting urban “wilderness” trails with the Santa Fe National Forest via Santa Fe County Open Space and the 13,000-foot high peaks of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains high above Santa Fe, will enhance and expand the hiking, trail running and mountain biking experience for those who take to the trails each and every day; the La Piedra Trail promises to be one of the most important non-motorized trail connections in Santa Fe.

Description: The Santa Fe Conservation Trust is looking for help to build this new and exciting trail. Our Volunteer Workdays are April 7, 14 and 21 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

During each workday we can accommodate up to 20 volunteers on a first come first served basis: all volunteers must pre-register by clicking on the link www.sfct.org/registration.

A twenty minute brisk walk is required to get into the site – so please be prepared for some hiking.

Additional information is available through the registration site including meeting location and a list of personal items we suggest to bring.

Description: We’ll meet at the parking lot on Pacheco Canyon Rd. adjacent to Hyde Park Rd. This intersection is toward the ski basin after the Big Tesuque Campground. Be there at 9 a.m. to carpool to the Winsor Trail–the road down is rough. Wear long sleeves and pants; bring a snack and lots of water; and please leave dogs at home (Forest Service Rules).
