We are gearing up for another great National Trails Day event and are happy to again partner with NM Volunteers for the Outdoors and Hyde Memorial State Park on June 7. Projects will include continued work on a new Winsor Trail re-route, trail work on the Big Tesuque trail, and other great projects at Hyde Memorial State Park. The day will run from 8:00 to 2:30. Lunch and other goodies will be provided by NM Volunteers for the Outdoors.

If you weren’t able to attend last year, we had a very successful event with a turnout of almost 70 people! Hopefully, you can join us this year and celebrate the benefits of our trails and public lands. As always long pants, long sleeves, leather gloves, above-ankle boots, and a daypack with plenty of water and sunscreen are required for trail project participation. Tools and hard hats will be provided.

Sign up this year will be through NM Volunteers for the Outdoors. Check out this link: http://nmvfo.org/projects/view/national-trails-day-santa-fe

Hope to see you on National Trails Day! Here is a link to National Trails Day information on the American Hiking Society website: http://www.americanhiking.org/national-trails-day/ . While it’s sponsored by American Hiking Society, projects are not limited to hikers. Every user group benefits from sustainable trails, and June 7 will be a another great opportunity to get together for a common, effective, and local cause.
