How to Post Trail Conditions

So, you just rode one of Santa Fe’s great trails and now you want to share the most up-to-date information with your mountain biking friends. SFFTS Trail Conditions is a twitter-based feed, but you don’t need a twitter account. You can post three ways:

  1. Send an email to sftrails@twittermail.com (max. 140 characters and it must contain #sftrails in the body of the email).
  2. Compose a Tweet containing #sftrails.
  3. If you have a twitter account with SMS enabled you can send a text to 40404. Thus no need for Internet service to post (like when you are talking in a remote parking lot after your ride, it’s easy to send a quick text). Be sure to include #sftrails.

Posts made by any of these methods will appear on the Trails Alliance of Santa Fe and the SFFTS Trail Conditions Twitter feeds.

Please format your tweets and emails: “Date, Location, Condition (good, fair, poor), Specific Note(s), #sftrails”.

Example: 3/11 – 10:15 am – La Tierra, Good, NW flats still a little wet-avoid if not frozen, #sftrails

Note: “#sftrails” is REQUIRED for your trail update to appear on the website with any of the posting options.

Thanks for riding the trails and sharing your knowledge!
