Join us for work on trails tying into La Tierra Trails. We will do lots of rock work and a little tread work to finish off the Arbolitos Trail. We are meeting at the corner of Ridgetop Rd. and Tano Rd. (The best parking is nearby on Ridge Point Loop.)
Bring work boots, long pants/shirt sleeves, sun protection, snacks, and water. I’ll bring the tools and supplies as well as work gloves for whoever needs them.

Trail Building at Galisteo Basin Preserve – Saturday, Sept. 16, 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM at GBP – Cowboy Shack Trailhead. Construct a half-mile multi-use trail segment that is being re-routed due to erosion affects from an advancing arroyo. Commonweal will supply all the trail building tools as well as snacks. Trail work includes elevating the trail through a narrow section of the canyon

Trail erosion issues will be addressed by constructing water bars, grade dips and knicks

Please join us for maintenance of the Atalaya Trail, which SFCT adopted on behalf of the Santa Fe National Forest several years ago. This work day was inspired by a tree that has fallen on the trail that will be the main objective, but I will bring more traditional trail tools for more traditional trail work as well.
We will meet at Wilderness Gate trailhead, but then proceed through the gate to bring everything to the top of Camino Cruz Blanca and head up the trail from there.
