Trails Alliance of Santa Fe monthly meeting 12:00 pm Trails Alliance of Santa Fe monthly meeting May 6 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Volunteers discuss up coming trail work and issues with city, county and USFS folks. Open to everybody. | ||||||
Come join us as we complete our trail re-route up and over the Acequia del Llano, above the green gate on Upper Canyon Rd., at Junction #29. We will make some finishing touches, officially “open” the trail, and have some refreshments and snacks together to celebrate the accomplishments of our dedicated City trail volunteers in 2014.
Special thanks to The Nature Conservancy for initiating this effort to bypass a steep and severely eroded section of trail along a PNM easement, and to members of the acequia association for supporting the effort. If you’d like to see how Days #1-3 went, take a look at our “past events” page.
Maintenance work to address erosion issues on La Tierra Trails, including re-route near Junction 2.
To sign up contact Tim Rogers at tim@sfct.org
Bring work boots, long pants/shirt sleeves, sun protection, snacks, and water.
Work with REI volunteers on Richards Ramble – might be cold so dress warmly and bring snacks and water.
Please consider joining us to help complete the Camino de Cruz Blanca Trail. A 90-ft.-long section of the trail was never built, and we have been asked to fill in the gap.
This is a little different from our typical trail work – we will prepare a four-foot wide surface, place weed barrier, metal edging, and steps, fill in with crusher fines, and compact. We will be working at 1300 Camino de Cruz Blanca: Closest parking is at Dorothy Stewart trailhead, Wilderness Gate Trailhead, or St. John’s Trailhead.
Let me know if you can make it. Thanks! – Tim
