Why We Are Celebrating
- More now than ever, nature must be conserved, restored, used sustainably, and celebrated. Resilience to climate change, human activity, and loss of biodiversity will help prevent an unprecedented loss of wild places, and we will showcase a new project that contributes to this resilience locally.
- Feeling nurtured by our local outdoor environment is essential for our overall wellbeing.
- Our protected views, open spaces, landscape corridors, abundant wildlife, and a vast trails network contributes to our local economy, our health, livelihoods, food security, and exceptional quality of life here.
- Our annual CCC event traditionally provides 20% of our operating budget and supports enhanced protection of local natural habitat, development and maintenance of trails, and community programs for youth, elders, and all ages in between with a focus on enhancing outdoor equity.

Please join us for another morning of trail work starting with some goathead eradication near the Santa Fe River and finishing with erosion control along the Arroyo del Cerro in Dale Ball Trails (a/k/a “The Luge”).
Meet at Cerro Gordo Park on Cerro Gordo Rd. Bring work boots, long pants, and water; plus your favorite weed picking tool. And please bring a mask if you have not been vaccinated against COVID. I’ll bring the trail tools. Let me know if you can make it, thank you.
Join this mellow community bicycle ride visiting trails, parks, and mellow streets along the Acequia Madre and the Santa Fe River. We will meet at the Fix It Fiesta at Aspen Community School at 11 am and make our way to Alto Park between the ballfields, to set sail along the river. If you would like to wait for us in Alto Park, watch out for goatheads in this area!
I hope you can join us! Come earlier if you want to get your bike looked at by a qualified mechanic.
