We will continue to punch in a re-route started last year on the Winsor Trail.
Let me know if you’d like to attend any of these. I’ll provide directions and any important information.
Please bring a daypack with lunch, plenty of water, sunscreen, etc. As always please wear long pants, long sleeves, above-ankle (non-skid) boots, leather gloves, and a smile. I’ll provide hard hats (new color has arrived), safety glasses, and tools.
RSVP required
Contact melohmann@santafecountynm.gov to be added to the waiting list
Participants will need to have the ability to hike a short distance and negotiate uneven, rocky terrain. Due to the undeveloped nature of the open space and associated hazards, participants will be asked to sign an Acknowledgement of Risk and Release of Liability.
Volunteers will head out to evaluate and fix identified drainage issues on the existing trail network. After enjoying lunch on the trail, volunteers will complete their work by 1:30 pm.
Food + Supplies: Commonweal will provide light snacks, water and all necessary trail-finishing tools. The Trails Alliance of Santa Fe and the Fat Tire Society have generously donated use of their tools for these events.
Work Requirements and Cautions: Trail building is a moderately strenuous activity. Please wear pants, long-sleeve shirt, hat and heavy work boots.
Bring: A sack lunch, sunscreen, water bottle and work gloves.
Space for each event is limited to 15 volunteers. To register for either day, please email Gretchen Grogan at gretchen.grogan@commonwealconservancy.org or call her at (505) 982-0071, ext. 106. Please title your email message: RSVP for Trail Maintenance.
