Galisteo Basin Preserve- Improvements to the Trail Network – National Trails Day @ Cowboy Shack
Jun 6 @ 8:30 am – 1:30 pm

Volunteers will head out to evaluate and fix identified drainage issues on the existing trail network. After enjoying lunch on the trail, volunteers will complete their work by 1:30 pm. Please email or call Gretchen if you plan on attending.

Food + Supplies: Commonweal will provide light snacks, water and all necessary trail-finishing tools. The Trails Alliance of Santa Fe and the Fat Tire Society have generously donated use of their tools for these events.

Work Requirements and Cautions: Trail building is a moderately strenuous activity. Please wear pants, long-sleeve shirt, hat and heavy work boots.

Bring: A sack lunch, sunscreen, water bottle and work gloves.

Winsor re-route project continues!

Let me know if you’d like to attend any of these. I’ll provide directions and any important information.

Please bring a daypack with lunch, plenty of water, sunscreen, etc. As always please wear long pants, long sleeves, above-ankle (non-skid) boots, leather gloves, and a smile. I’ll provide hard hats (new color has arrived), safety glasses, and tools.

Eighth Annual Community Cruise: June 6 2015

Railyard CommunityCruise June 6 2015A slow bike ride with breaks, including visits to the Acequia Trail, the Rail Trail, and the River Trail as well as calm connecting roads in between.  This activity is possible through support to SFCT’s Trails Program by the City of Santa Fe.

Moderate hike.

Hike will be approximately 3.5 miles with a mid-point drop off for those wanting to end sooner

Located in an area with over 1,000 years of mining history Cerrillos Hills State Park is home to mines worked by a variety of cultures. Native, Spanish and Territorial miners found turquoise, galena, silver, copper, iron, manganese, zinc and other semi-precious ores here. Over five miles of trails take you past historic mine sites that tell the story of how the little hills played a giant role in the settlement of New Mexico.
